Bevel Siding side view |
Western Red Cedar bevel siding is the most widely used siding type. It is produced by resawing lumber at an angle to produce two pieces thicker on one edge than the other. The manufacturing process results in pieces with one face saw textured. The other face is smooth or saw textured depending on the grade and customer preference. Western Red Cedar Lumber Association |

Western Red Cedar
Natural cedar is an excellent choice for Northwest homes. Cedar offers a timeless compliment to any architectural style from traditional to contemporary. We sell three grades of Western Red Cedar:
Western Red Cedar Clear Vertical Grain |
Clear Board that is usually free of knots. Some lower grades of clear lumber will have minimal knots. |
Western Red Cedar Shingles |
"A" Grade A grading classification which refers to boards that are of a mixed grain, i.e. includes both flat and vertical grain. |
Western Red Cedar Tight Knot |
Tight Knot Knots are a portion of a branch or limb that has been incorporated into a board. A Tight Knot is a knot so fixed by growth, shape or position that it retains its place in the board. |
Tongue and Groove is a type of siding in which a projecting rib on the edge of one board fits into a groove in the edge of an adjacent board.
Tongue and Groove is commonly used for siding and ceilings.
